Multi-Sensory Storytelling Families

On 8 April six families took part in a making multi-sensory storytelling book session at Southend Central Library.

The session was funded by the Short Breaks scheme, which aims to improve the lives of profoundly disabled children/young people and their families and was organised in memory of one of the young people who attended, the monthly multi sensory storytelling sessions at Southend Central Library.

Chris Fuller, founder of the charity Bag Books, donated her time for free and supported the parents with writing a story, for their own multi-sensory book about a new puppy.

Parent Emma Skinner said, "I can say that the session was run extremely well and the arts and crafts provided were excellent. I had a great time sticking and gluing!!"

Multi-sensory storytelling sessions run every month at Southend Central Library. The next sessions are on Saturday 11th May, 8th June and 13th July at 2pm for 4-11 years and 3pm for 11+ years.

No need to book just come along and join in the fun! Visit www.southend.gov.uk/libraries for more information.
