Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) are practice-based groups that create a partnership between patients and the GP practice, so they can work together to improve services provided by the practice.
PPG meetings are usually chaired by a patient and are supported by GP practice staff, however they can also be chaired by practice managers, GPs and practice nurses. Some practices operate a 'virtual' PPG, where patients are contacted via email.
Does my practice have a PPG?
You can contact your GP practice directly to find out if it has a PPG and how you can get involved. There may also be information on your practice's website.
NHS Southend CCG supports the PPG chairs in their own network, which gives the CCG first-hand knowledge of the experience and views of users of the service in all parts of Southend. The PPGF also allows the opportunity to for good practice to be shared and disseminated by the members of the Forum.
