Fraud Statement

The Organisation is a mandatory participant in the Cabinet Office’s National Fraud Initiative; a data matching exercise to assist in the prevention and detection of fraud. We are required to provide data to the Minister for the Cabinet Office for matching as detailed here on the www.gov.uk website.

This is a legal requirement on the CCG to prevent and detect fraud. The process consists of comparing our records to other computer records held by ourselves or another body to check for matches. This will involve the use of personal information in respect of payments to employees.

The processing of data by the Cabinet Office in a data matching exercise is carried out with a statutory authority under Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. It does not require the consent of the individuals concerned under data protection legislation or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
