Governing Body meetings

These pages provide information on our public meetings of the Governing Body including future dates, attendance guidance and previous Governing Body meeting papers and minutes:

Governing Body Dates

Governing Body Papers

Public meetings of the Governing Body of NHS Southend CCG are held bi-monthly. This means members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the meetings.

Members of the public wishing to attend the meetings can find copies of the agenda and other papers here on our website before the date of the Governing Body meeting.

From time to time, the Governing Body may need to consider agenda items which are confidential and cannot be discussed in public. If this is the case, a private session will be held at the meeting, from which the public will be excluded.

Patient group meetings

NHS Southend Clinical Commissioning Group uses a range of channels to engage local stakeholders and ensure the voices of patients, service users and local people are heard.  We are a member of the Patient Participation Group Forum (PPGF), managed by Healthwatch Southend.  This meets every other month and brings together representatives and members of the local voluntary and third sectors to help us design our engagement and communications to ensure wider input from local stakeholders.

Public consultations

Details of previous and current public consultations can be found in our 'Get Involved' section.

Our priorities and how we are doing

Mid and South Essex Success Regime
The Success Regime is a national initiative that was first announced in the NHS Five Year Forward View[1] in 2015.  The aim is to support those NHS areas with deep-rooted and persistent pressures, where financial deficits and service shortfalls create serious challenges for health and care in the future.

There are three NHS areas in the country that operate as a Success Regime; one for Northern, Eastern and Western Devon, one for West, North and East Cumbria and ours covering mid and south Essex.  Click here to read more information about the Mid and South Essex Success Regime.

NHS Southend CCG Constitution

The Constitution sets out the arrangements made by NHS Southend Clinical Commissioning Group to meet its responsibilities for commissioning care for the people for whom it is responsible. It describes the governing principles, rules and procedures that the Group will establish to ensure probity and accountability in the day to day running of the Group; to ensure that decisions are taken in an open and transparent way and that the interests of patients and the public remain central to the goals of the Group.

Annual Report

NHS Southend CCG has now been established for our third financial year, which runs from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016, inclusive. All NHS organisations are required by law to publish annual reports, detailing financial accounts, and to present them in public at an Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The final annual report is also submitted to NHS England after internal sign-off. Our annual report and accounts for this financial year can be found as part of the CCG’s publications documents attached below. The purpose of this document is to look back at our key achievements, work areas and finances over our third year as a statutory body, as well as plans and priorities for the coming year and beyond.
